COFFEE SHOP RECOMENDATIONS

Some recommendations of where to pass your time and have some good coffee or snacks!

Hi, everybody! I’m Danny and this week is my turn to bring you something new.

CAFÉ LOCO

Starting off strong for all the coffee enthusiasts, the first recommendation is a Korean cafe. They focus mostly on their drinks, putting a lot of effort into the coffee process, they even have some certificates for it, and every single thing there will blow your mind.

This is a very special cafe, from the creative names of the drinks and food (all of them being wordplay or puns), to the quality of everything there, the food, the drinks, and even the people.

The staff are some of the nicest people you'll meet, just incredibly warm and welcoming, they even remember the name of every person that has ever been there. They make the whole ambiance of the place somewhere safe where you can start a conversation with absolutely anyone, opening the door to new friendships!

As for the drinks, our personal favorite is called “Salvador Deli” which is a coffee based drink, with a salty cream; enjoying one while eating a delicious “Queso Pluma”, a cheesecake-like dessert, is definitely a great way to spend your time.

As for the food, the “Queso Pluma” definitely takes the crown but you cannot leave there without also trying their famous “Ajosisimo”, although believe us, after you see them, you’ll want to try them all.

They divide their drinks into 3 categories, styles of coffee, coffee based drinks and non coffee based drinks; and for the coffee they offer several different inhouse blends and even a decaffeinated blend (for people that get a little jumpy with caffeine) (like me). There's also a special matcha drink (for all of you matcha lovers out there) and they even have one latte with a lavender cream.

They are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, only closed on Tuesdays.

TREMENDOS ROLES

Next up we have “Tremendos Roles”! This cafe focuses on their amazing cinnamon rolls. They do have a variety of drinks, with and without caffeine, their chocolate is definitely a must to try! It's a true chocolate beverage, not using chocolate syrup, but actual chocolate, with a note of cardamom. Hot or cold, you cannot go wrong with it.

Now onto the most important part there: their rolls. This cafe has such a unique variety of flavors, most of which you wouldn't hear about in any other place. The ones that they always have is a classic cinnamon roll with the most delicious cream on top, and their special “Hojaldra” roll, which is a salty roll with the typical cheese, ham and jalapeño, known in the “hojaldras”.

Apart from those they have flavors of the week or season, we urge you to try even the one that seem more outlandish to you, since it would probably be the most delicious! They've had flavors like marigold rolls, tteokbokki rolls, cheesecake and blueberry rolls, and some more common flavors like pumpkin spice, nutella and lotus.

Our personal favorite was definitely the Lotus roll, since the Lotus cream, and their original cream mix so well together you truly feel like your tasting heaven. On top of having such delicious flavors, we need to take a minute and talk about the bread, since it's so fluffy and well done, you feel like you're biting a cloud; even if you're not able to finish your roll, and want to save it for another day, after spending some time in the fridge, you can just pop it inside the microwave and you won't notice the difference as when it was just baked.

Galletas DR

Last but not least, we have “Galletas DR”. This cafe focuses on the cookies they serve, there are also a variety of drinks, with and without caffeine, that you can order, but what takes the cake are the amazingly delicious cookies you’ll find there.

They also have some unique flavors that they know how to properly explore so you can enjoy them tremendously.

Our personal favorite is the classic Kinder bar cookie, the chocolate bar mixes perfectly with the cookie dough making such an amazing cookie, but other favorites are the Lotus cookie and the Red Velvet with Nutella cookie.

They also have a variety of ice creams you can combine with the cookies, for those days when everything feels just a little too hot. This cafe is really special for us since it’s something that started during the pandemic, as just someone selling cookies from their house, and it has now grown to a cafe with various different locations, while still maintaining the same flavor it had more than 6 years ago.

A bonus for this cafe is that you can find it in the park “La Plancha”, so you can take a stroll through this beautiful park, and explore the different options offered by the food court, while enjoying a cookie - or several cookies, which we wouldn’t blame you for ;) -
