Here you can find daily events held throughout the city where you can enjoy different aspects of Yucatecan culture. Monday
Every Monday at 9:00 pm you can experience traditional Yucatecan music and dance at Mérida’s City Hall!
Yucatán’s traditional dance, called jarana, dates all the way back to the colonial era where various different cultures merged into one joyous melody which is still danced to centuries later. Back then the vaquería was an annual party that was thrown at haciendas to celebrate the ending of branding season. However, nowadays it is a form of entertainment that can be seen at any important event.

Tuesday
If you love listening or dancing to music, these events are a must!
Head to the Olimpo Cultural Center at 8:00 pm to listen to Yucatecan trova where a group of trovadores will interpret multiple classic songs from Yucatán.
On the other hand, if you want to dance along to music then make sure to go to Santiago Park at 8:30 pm. Attendees can dance to live music from many genres such as cumbia, cha cha chá or mambos.
Wednesday
Every Wednesday at 8:30 pm a video is projected onto the façade of the museum Casa Montejo. During this 30-minute video you will learn about the origin and architectural details about the building as well as the history behind it.
After the video, you may stay and watch a small fictional play about Francisco de Montejo and, to finalize the event, a regional dance performance.

Thursday
On Thursday musicians and dancers will serenade you at Santa Lucía Park at 9:00 pm. Experience numerous songs and dances at the stage that has entertained us for more than 50 years. Be sure to visit one of the many restaurants nearby to fully immerse yourself in the culture!
